The Internet Society UK England Chapter (hereafter referred to as “ISOC UK”) is conducting elections for four (4) At-Large members of its Executive Council. These members will each serve until the next election in January 2027.
The Executive Council and its composition is outlined in the Rules of the UK Chapter of the Internet Society (v3.1).

Election Process
2. Election
2.1 There are four (4) At-Large positions to be appointed on ISOC UK Executive Council.
2.2 If four or fewer candidates are nominated during the nomination period, they shall be appointed by acclamation. If more than four candidates are nominated during the nomination period, a secret ballot shall be held using a secure online voting method.
2.3 The voting method will be Single Transferable Vote (STV) whereby voters rank candidates in descending order of preference on their ballots.
2.4 A link to the online ballot will be notified by email to each ISOC UK member who has been in membership for at least two years and is in good standing.
2.5 The ballot period will open on 28 July 2025 at 00.01 UTC and will close on 3 August 2025 at 23.59 UTC.
2.6 Each ISOC UK member may submit one ballot each, expressing at least one preference but up to as many preferences as there are candidates listed on the ballot.
2.7 Upon the ballot period closing, the results will be posted to the ISOC UK Chapter Announcement system and the ISOC UK website by 4 August 2025.
2.8 There will be a 7-day challenge period commencing from the announcement of the successful candidates, whether by acclamation or election.
2.9 The results of the ballot will be used to appoint the At-Large members of the ISOC UK Executive Council. The four highest ranked candidates will each be appointed until the next election in January 2027, commencing from 11 August 2025.
3. Election Supervision & Dispute Resolution
3.1 The nomination and election process is supervised by an Election Committee.
3.2 The membership of the Election Committee is made up of three (3) ISOC UK members, selected randomly from the pool of candidates that volunteered, three (3) members of other Internet Society Chapters selected from a pool who had volunteered for other ISOC Chapter elections, plus one non-voting Chair selected by the Election Committee.
The voting members of the ISOC UK Election Committee are Chileshe Chambaila (ISOC UK), Kevin Meynell (ISOC UK), John Paschoud (ISOC UK), Berna Alp (ISOC Switzerland), Dave Burstein (ISOC NY) and Luis Martinez (ISOC Mexico).
The non-voting Chair is Sebastien Bachollet (ISOC France), and a non-voting Observer Al Ghaff (ISOC Staff) is also present in the committee.
3.3 The Election Committee shall have the following responsibilities:
3.1.1 to determine and oversee the nomination and election process;
3.1.2 to administer the call for nominations and publish the list of candidates;
3.1.3 to manage the online voting process if required;
3.1.4 to identify any anomalies or issues during the nomination and election process;
3.1.5 to resolve any complaints or disputes;
3.1.6 to declare the election results.
3.4 Any complaint or dispute related to the nomination and election processes must be lodged in writing with the Chair of the Election Commitee within the challenge period.
Only election candidates and ISOC UK members may lodge a notice of complaint or dispute.
